Allen - VN Editor for Hire!
Do you need someone to go over anything to check for typos? Wanna make sure dialogue sounds natural? I can help out with that!
Hi, I'm Allen!I'm a college senior that's majoring with a degree focus in graphic design. When I'm not working on college stuff, I like listening to music, chatting with my friends, and playing games. I occasionally like to write, too!I recently decided that I wanted to offer my assistant writer/editor skills to other people. I'm down for looking over scripts and dialogue and fixing things, whether it's making sure something sounds like what a real person would say, or looking for grammar/spelling issues. It's honestly very fun for me, and I'd be happy to do all this for you!
History
I first dabbled with advanced creative writing and story creation a couple of years ago with online friends. I had plenty of English and literature classes throughout my school years, so I knew how to write stories fairly well, with almost no criticisms on my grammar as well.Around 2021, I was brought on to the Cleaved visual novel team as one of the assistant writers to help with typo fixing, to bounce ideas off of, and formatting the script to be imported into RenPy easier.Early in 2024, I began to write a long-term fantasy roleplay story with a friend of mine, Swift, featuring our fantasy characters. This is still ongoing to this day, and I've been backing the story up on a Google Doc for safe-keeping and readability whenever it goes public. In terms of other work, I also wrote a NSFW fanfiction of a character from Cleaved based on an art piece I commissioned in 2024. It totaled to 11 pages and nearly 2.9k words.
Examples
I also have my blog where I write about different things I like, including music, video games, and a bunch of other technical stuff. You can find it on the main page, linked to the Tumblr button.
Terms, Conditions, etc.
While I don't have a whole contract or anything, I do want to give you the rundown on how something like this would go.I want to be given a couple of days to read the material provided. Obviously, this can vary depending on how much I am wanted to proofread, edit, or fix. But it can take a while if it's something that's been in development for a couple years or so.I do work best in Google Docs. I'd prefer if the script is provided in a format that works with the program so that I'm not bombarded with RenPy code all over the place, but if I can make out the dialogue and words, then that's the minimum for me.Pay can be discussed privately, but mostly revolves around the amount of work I would be doing and the time it'll take to do said work. I'm 100% open to negotiation.I'm also open to joining a team! I'm looking to do more than just one-time freelance work, after all.If all of this sounds good to you, feel free to message me on the platforms I listed above. Or, you can talk to me on Discord. It's the same username as my Twitter and Bluesky.
